With Christmas just over a week away and the end of another year rapidly approaching it’s a good time to reflect on our place in the world and how we interact with others.
Christmas can be over shadowed by the commercial aspect of buying and giving presents, having parties etc. Whilst this is all good fun, it can bring out the best and sometimes the worst in people, particularly in our interactions with others.
The festive season gives us the opportunity to be conscious of our behaviour. To treat those with whom we interact with politeness, respect and tolerance. Our world needs a big dose of this right now. It’s actions of individuals that make the world a better place. Use this time of year to actively do your bit to improve the lives of those around you.
Even a small gesture can make another persons day brighter and better. It’s these “random acts of kindness” that bring a much needed smile to the faces of the both the giver and receiver. It could be just opening the door for someone, or letting another person get served before you, helping someone across the road or onto a bus, letting that car into your lane even though they’ve jumped the queue.
We can generally manage to make an effort to add some Christmas cheer, but how about imbedding these actions into your life year round. Not only will others benefit from your positive behaviour, but you will too in ways you may never have dreamed about.
